There are ways YOU can help βœ‹πŸΌ stop bullying on the spot. Help us show our students that bullying behavior is unacceptable by taking some simple steps to show the way. For more information and resources, visit https://www.rainsisd.org/page/risd-stop-bullying.

When adults respond quickly and consistently to bullying behavior they send the message that it is not acceptable. Research shows this can stop bullying behavior over time.
DO: Intervene immediately. It is ok to get another adult to help. Separate the kids involved. Make sure everyone is safe. Meet any immediate medical or mental health needs. Stay calm. Reassure the kids involved, including bystanders. Model respectful behavior when you intervene.
DON'T: Don’t ignore it. Don’t think kids can work it out without adult help. Don’t immediately try to sort out the facts. Don’t force other kids to say publicly what they saw. Don’t question the children involved in front of other kids. Don’t talk to the kids involved together, only separately. Don’t make the kids involved apologize or patch up relations on the spot.
Rains Intermediate was recognized by our regional Education Service Center for "Mathematizing" their campus! By adding a Mathematician St. bulletin board, & 3rd-5th grade hallway place value charts, Mrs. Davis is showing our students that math is important and exciting! πŸ€“βž•βž—βœ–βž–

Did you know that 1 out of 5 students is bullied? Parents, school staff, and other adults can help prevent bullying by: 🟠 Helping kids understand bullying - Talk about what bullying is and how to stand up to it safely. Tell kids bullying is unacceptable and make sure they know how to get help. 🟠 Checking in - Check in with kids often. Listen to them, know their friends, ask about school, and understand their concerns. 🟠 Finding something they love - Encourage kids to find special activities, interests, and hobbies to boost their confidence, help them make friends. and protect them from bullying behavior. 🟠 Modeling how to treat others - Show kindness and respect to teach the kids in your lives that there is no place for bullying. Information from PACER's National Bullying Prevention Center and StopBullying.gov. You can find the articles, resources, Rains ISD bullying prevention practices, and more at rainsisd.org/page/risd-stop-bullying.
