All classes in Rains ISD are canceled on April 8, 2024, because of the total solar eclipse. We believe this proactive approach prioritizes the safety of everyone involved including children, staff, parents, and visitors.
By collaborating with city, county, and state first responders and emergency management officials, we assist in a coordinated effort to address the potential increase in traffic and safety considerations during this significant event.

RISD Junior High Campus welcomed community members, board members, and parents to read and promote the love of reading and literacy within our school community. Community members were able to read a picture book and share their favorite book, poem, or any suitable school text.
