Are you ready to take video gaming to the next level? For the first year in RISD history, Rains High School has partnered with the national organization HSEL to create an esports team. This partnership allows students to compete in $30,000 in scholarships per UIL affiliated tournament, which is sponsored by the National Guard. RHS will compete in 2 contests annually by playing Nintendo Switch games against schools across the United States. Even more exciting, Texas A&M, University of Texas Dallas, University of Texas Arlington, and Concordia University offer collegiate esports programs with scholarships that could potentially pave the way for continued education for our student body.
