Stop the Bleed

What is Stop the Bleed?

The Stop the Bleed campaign was initiated by the Department of Defense and several other entities to prevent massive losses after natural or man-made events.  The goal is to improve survival after these events by controlling severe bleeding. The Stop the Bleed program is recommended at least once for students in 7th- 12th grade.

The Texas Education Code (TEC), §38.030, as added by House Bill (HB) 496, 86th Texas Legislature, requires the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to approve training for the use of a bleeding control station in the event of an injury to another person.
