To Our Rains Family,
We just received word that the boil water notice for Emory has been lifted.  Classes will resume at regular times tomorrow.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.  Hopefully, the weather and related issues will oblige so school operations can return to normal.  It’s a great time to be in Wildcat country.
Jim Dunlap - Interim Superintendent.Â

As of 5:30 PM, Sunday, the boil water notice issued by the city is still in effect. As a result, there will be a 2-hour delay for the start of classes on Monday with the expectation that the boil water notice will be lifted in the morning. Buses will run 2 hours later. If parents prefer, students may bring their own water for personal consumption. In addition, we will have bottled water available at the school. We will keep you informed of any new information or changes in plans.

đź”” Rains ISD Weather Alert đź””
[Tuesday 01/16/24 Wednesday 01/17/24]
To our Rains ISD Family,
According to weather forecasters, we are expecting colder temperatures accompanied by rain and/or snow today and tomorrow. While the main roads may be relatively safe to drive on, it is impossible to travel safely on many of our back roads due to these conditions. Also, children waiting for a bus while standing in the severe cold and wind is not a good situation.
In light of these conditions, our priority is the safety of our staff and students. Therefore, we have decided to cancel class on Tuesday. On Wednesday, there will be a two-hour delay for classes.
We are informing you of these plans in advance so that you have more time to plan for your family.
On Wednesday, the forecast is around 14 degrees in the morning but is expected to rise above freezing later in the day. Therefore, classes will begin two hours later than usual on Wednesday, and buses will run two hours later than usual.
Please take care and stay safe outside.
Jim Dunlap, Interim Superintendent
