It is with deep sorrow that we inform you of the passing of Mr. David Seago, who served as RISD Superintendent from 1997 to 2012. Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time.
His family will be hosting his visitation at Lowe Garder Funeral Home in Quitman tomorrow, March 26, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at Lake Fork Baptist Church in Alba on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
We extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers to his family, friends, and all who were touched by his leadership and kindness.


[03/24/2025] This morning an ambulance was called to Rains High School for a medical emergency involving a student. Thank you to those on the campus who responded so quickly as well as all EMS responders.


Congratulations to the Rains High School Theater Company for dominating the UIL One-Act Play competition!
A huge shout-out to AJ Soto, who earned Best Performer, Cameron Fouse for All-Star Cast, Colton Mott for Honorable Mention All-Star, and Ben Wilson, who received the All-Star Tech Award.

Wildcat Family,
We would like to inform you that Rains Independent School District will now be requiring proof of residency for all student enrollments, including both returning and new students, during the upcoming enrollment period.
What you need to know:
-Proof of residency will be mandatory for all students.
-This applies to both returning students and those enrolling for the first time.
-Please have a current utility bill, lease agreement, or other acceptable documents ready when you complete the enrollment process.
Enrollment for the upcoming school year will be starting soon—stay tuned for more information! If you have any questions regarding the proof of residency requirement, please reach out to your campus registrar.

🎉 State Powerlifting Competition 🎉
We are proud to celebrate our lady cat, Scarlett Harris, who competed in the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association (THSWPA) State Powerlifting Competition last week! Scarlett placed 2nd in the Regional competition, securing her spot at the State level, where she finished 10th with a combined total weight of 635 lbs.

[03/06/2025] This afternoon an ambulance was called to Rains Junior High for a medical emergency involving a student. Parents have been notified and student is safe. Thank you to those on the campus who responded so quickly as well as all EMS responders.


[03/04/2025 ] All campuses at Rains ISD were placed on secure status for a brief period due to shots fired off campus. No threats were identified. The secure status has been lifted, and normal school operations have resumed.


📢 Reminder: Upcoming Fridays are Full School Days! 📚
As approved by an 80.7% vote from staff, parents, students, and community members, and by the Rains Independent School District Board of Trustees in August, the following three Fridays will be full school days for both students and staff.

🗓️ Key Updates:
-The last day of school will now be May 29th (instead of June 5th).
-Graduation will take place on May 30th (instead of June 6th).
-This change allows for additional instructional time leading up to STAAR testing.
